Hanny Lee – Director & Producer
Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Hanny Lee found her passion in cinematography and documentary film when she came to the United States while pursuing a higher education. The documentary films she has directed and produced explore social issues and include typical issues encountered by minorities, immigrants, the disabled and elderly with Alzheimer’s disease. Her films have received awards and have been screened at festivals including the Broadcast Education Association, Texas Black Film Festival, Dallas International Film Festival, Thinline Film Festival, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival and Mammoth Film Festival.
When not working on her own films, Lee often works as a camerawoman for other documentary films around the United States but also travels to other parts of the world. She also directed and produced live music concerts and video recordings in Texas, including several pieces for the Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band.
Abbey Hoekzema – Producer
Abbey Hoekzema is documentary filmmaker and producer from Virginia. She currently works as a Program Manager for the Lone Star Film Society’s All in Film Workshop in Fort Worth, Texas. Through the program, she mentors a group of high school girls interested in pursuing filmmaking. Her films have screened at the Virginia Film Festival Lone Star International Film Festival, and Bare Bones Film Festival. Her filmmaking interests include natural disaster recovery, women, altruism, and starting over.
Sara Masetti – Producer
Sara Masetti is an Italian filmmaker based in New York City where she works as a documentary producer. Her films have screened at several venues including the United Nations Association Film Festival, Newfilmmakers New York, DOCUTAH, and Canada International Film Festival. Her work delves into themes of immigration, LGBT identity, and the celebration of the human family.
Matthew John Bukaty – Composer
Matthew John Bukaty is an American composer of music for film, television and multimedia. His emotionally-charged music has accompanied a number of documentary and narrative films that have screened at festivals worldwide. He received his Bachelor’s degree in music composition from the University of North Texas in 2009, studying under composers David Bithell and Cindy McTee. He went on to receive his Master’s degree in film and multimedia scoring from New York University, where he studied under film composer Mark Suozzo and renowned film orchestrator Sonny Kompanek.
